ACTIVE X

Active X is a programming language created by Microsoft. Active controls are like Java applets, and can be inserted inside web pages, spreadsheets, word documents and other documents . These natty bits of software can provide dynamic function to your web site much like Java and again are components that you can't create with HTML. Not unsurprisingly other Microsoft products link into it so that you can do things like putting Powerpoint presentations on the web

Also like Java there is a potential risk of rogue active X components.

Unfortunately it is only supported by a limited no. of browsers (namely Internet explorer 3 to 5) in the native state (watch out for plug ins)

To add an activeX control simple click
insert -> other components -> ActiveX control..
