Once you load composer up you should see something like this

Netscape 6 (Screenshot v 6.2)

Composer window of Netscape 6.2

Netscape Navigator 4.8

Composer window of Netscape 4.8

In both version, you can see the window is divided into 3 main areas

At the top there are sets of (1) pull down menus which operate along the same lines of most software. here you can choose to save your work, insert images, alter text and so on.

Below that is a series of (2) icon driven toolbars with various icons for inserting or altering items on the page (move your mouse over each to see their function).

There are some subtle differences in the available icons. For example with the older versions you can see the built in publisher features shown as icons (this is not available on netscape 6), whereas the newer version has a link taking you to Netscape's website at the end on your right side

There is the large (3) work area where you work on the current page that you are preparing. Here your page will appear

Both show if you're currently online with the plug icon near (4)

With both there are links to other parts of the Netscape browser suite. With the newer version they are at the absolute bottom on your left side. Whilst in the older version they sit on the absolute bottom of (your) right side of the window

The Netscape 6 version includes a handy set of tabs (a) that allow you to jump into preview, HTML mode and also allows you to see and remove all tags

In addition to these features, try right clicking in the work area. Depending on what you click over you will get a short menu like this

right click menu Netscape 6.2

or

right click example Netscape 4.8

The menu varies from target to target

The both versions give you overall the same options although you may need to get at them in different ways (for example f you click the More Properties button with the netscape 6 version you get the same size and alignment options)
